A slide does something a castle cannot: it gives you a single, obvious thing to do, over and over, with a queue that moves. For big groups and wide age ranges it is often the better hire.

The Giant Super Slide

The 6.5m x 4m Giant Super Slide is the main slide in our fleet. It is $420 for a half day and $470 for a whole day, and it is suitable up to 12 years. It is tall enough to feel like an event and still safe for a five-year-old to go down on their own.

Space and ground

Allow around 8m x 6m of clear flat ground. The critical measurement is not the footprint, it is the height and the run-out at the bottom, so do not put it where a fence, a washing line or a low branch sits over the landing. Check for overhead power lines and trees before you settle on a spot.

Grass is best. On a hard surface we anchor differently, so let us know what the ground is when you book.

Who it suits

Slides work where a castle divides a group. Older children who consider a bouncy castle beneath them will still queue for a slide. It is also a more manageable unit for an event than a course, because there is one entry, one exit, and an adult can see the whole thing from one position.

Running it safely

One at a time on the way down, and nobody climbing back up the slide. That is most of it. Keep shoes off, keep the landing clear, and stop it in strong wind. We supply safety mats, and we hire supervisors in four-hour blocks if you would rather not run a parent roster.

Pairing a slide with something else

The common combination is the slide for the older kids plus a ball pit or a 4m x 4m play park for the under-fives, so both ends of the age range have somewhere to be. Add a fun food machine and face painting and you have filled an afternoon without anyone organising a game.
